Boeing B-17 G Model Flying Fortress
Boeing B-17 G Model Flying Fortress designed by Boeing Aircraft in 1934, is one of the most famous aircraft ever built. The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is the first production American all-metal heavy four-engined bomber. Before the advent of long-range fighter escorts, B-17s had only their .50 caliber M2 Browning machine guns to rely on for defense during the bombing runs over Europe. As the war intensified, Boeing used feedback from aircrews to improve each new variant with increased armament and armor. Defensive armament increased from four 0.50 in (12.7 mm) machine guns and one 0.30 in (7.62 mm) nose machine gun in the B-17C, to thirteen 0.50 in (12.7 mm) machine guns in the B-17G.

Jet-powered Strategic Bomber B-52 was designed by Boeing Aircraft in October 1946 in response to the Army Air Corp request for a long range bomber capable of carrying a 10,000 lb payload 3000 miles at 300 mph.
