Victory Park in Atyrau is one of the large complexes in Western Kazakhstan, dedicated to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The memorial complex was opened on May 7, 1975. And on May 9 of the same year, the ceremonial laying of Victory Park took place in honor of the 30th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In 2000, the Eternal Flame monument was erected on the territory of Victory Park. The alley with a total area of 1 hectare is lined with paving slabs. In the middle of the square is the Eternal Flame in the form of a five-pointed star, made of cast iron. The unquenchable flame is considered a symbol of memory of the fallen defenders of the Motherland. At the rear of the memorial there is a 9 m high stainless steel stele in the shape of a bayonet. On both sides of the square there are two busts, one of which depicts a warrior’s mother, and the other a grieving mother. To the right of the main gate is an open-air museum, where models of tanks, guns, armored personnel carriers and even a military aircraft are displayed, and to the left is the “Memory Alley” consisting of 14 busts of WWII heroes.
