Locomotive-monument L-1048. Built by the Bryansk plant in 1948. The monument is located near the building of the KTZ branch in Atyrau. Installed in 1992 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the construction of the Guryev-Kandagach 517 km road in 1942, which made it possible to transport goods from the Urals and Siberia to the Caucasus and back using the shortest route through the Caspian Sea.

Steam locomotive L (L – in honor of L. S. Lebedyansky) is a Soviet mainline freight steam locomotive, developed at the end of World War II under the leadership of designer L. S. Lebedyansky and academician S. P. Syromyatnikov, and produced from 1945 to 1955.
One of the best and most massive (over 4,000 locomotives) Soviet steam locomotives, which could be operated on the entire railway network of the USSR. Among the railway workers, the nicknames Lebedyanka and Lebed were assigned to the L locomotives.
