The Tuyesu Sands are located in the Karakiya District of the Mangystau Region, on the outskirts of the village of Senek. The Tuyesu Sands stretch from southeast to northeast for 30 kilometers, with a maximum width of 12 kilometers from north to south.
The distance from the city of Zhanaozen to the Tuyesu Sands is 50 kilometers. Mangyshlak and Ustyurt encompass all types of deserts. There are sandy massifs with wind-swept dunes, where the sultry wind sings its mournful songs through the branches of rare saxaul trees.
The administrative center of the Senek rural district is located in the southern part of the Tuyesu Sands. It is located 30 kilometers east of the village of Kyzylsay. The village of Senek is famous for its 19th-century necropolis.
