Village of Shchuchye Ostashkov district of Tver region
The Valdai Upland is located in the northwestern part of the Russian Plain, within the Tver, Novgorod, Smolensk and, in part, Pskov and Leningrad regions, with a length of more than 600 km. Height from 150 to 250 m, the highest point is 346.9 m.

Milk and meat sovkhoz “Peredovik” was founded in January 1969 based on the decision of the general “Peredovik” kolkhoz meeting Schuchenskogo village council on the basis of land and public property kolkhoz “Peredovik”. Kolkhoz “Peredovik” was formed in 1958 by combining the small kolkhozes into one enlarged kolkhoz.
Most of the huts in the village of Shchuchye, as well as in the settlements of former more extensive Schuchenskoy parish, built of brick instead of wood, as in other townships of the county. Total population in Shchuchye were state peasants and had a higher standard of living compared to serfs. And it allows them to build brick houses.
