The receiver was developed in 1947 at the Special Design Bureau of the State Plant No. 619 based on captured German equipment. It was produced in 1948-1952 at the Kharkov Radio Plant No. 158. &#8220;Krot-M&#8221; was produced from 1953 to 1960. Double conversion superheterodyne, assembled on 17 octal tubes and cast aluminum chassis, operates in CW and AM modes. It has high, intermediate and low frequency gain controls, has very good sensitivity. The optical tuning scale, the drum mechanism for switching ranges and the cast chassis are borrowed from German radios.
